About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support charging accuracy among clinical departments
- Correct charges and promote billing accuracy using the PA patient management and case management system
- Respond to requests and serve as a system resource for charging problems, CDM data entry, and payment error prevention
- Serve as a liaison between clinical and PA departments
- Collaborate with Patient Accounts, HIM, UR, Charge Audit, Charge Management, and other charging departments on charge issue resolution and process improvement
- Manage assigned work queues and complete queued accounts promptly
- Share trends with the Manager and/or Charge Management service line analyst to support staff education
- Use system and department reference materials to follow appropriate processes and guidelines
- Assist with charge correction projects
- Attend monthly team meetings and in-person quarterly team meetings
- Manage metro facility mailboxes and respond to charging department questions, issues, and charge corrections
- Perform charge capture for non-infusion charges for OB departments at some metro facilities
- Review patient medical records and validate documentation supporting charges
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3–5 years of applicable experience
- Experience in EPIC WQ's is ideal
- Knowledge and technical expertise of the PA patient management and case management system
- Critical thinking in CDM data management assignments
- Ability to manage work queues and complete accounts in a timely manner
- Ability to review patient medical records and validate documentation supporting charges
- Availability to attend in-person quarterly team meetings
