About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Advise customers, from startups to large enterprises, on designing company-wide analytics platforms
- Design and build scalable Tableau environments, including server or cloud configuration, site structures, and project organization
- Define and enforce standards for dashboard design, data source management, naming conventions, and version control
- Design dashboards, visualizations, and calculations according to business requirements, performance benchmarks, and row-level security requirements
- Optimize data models, extracts, and live connections for fast and reliable performance
- Design data pipelines, semantic layers, and data sources to support analytics requirements
- Manage user access, permissions, licenses, and security governance in Tableau environments
- Design Tableau development pipelines using the Tableau Command Line Utility (tabcmd)
- Collaborate with data engineers, business analysts, business units, and stakeholders
- Translate requirements into effective data visualization strategies
- Empower teams to make data-driven decisions
- Communicate complex data as clear, actionable insights
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 5 years of professional experience in business intelligence or data analytics
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Tableau
- In-depth expertise in Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud, Tableau Prep, and the Tableau Command Line Utility (tabcmd)
- Excellent SQL skills
- Experience with relational databases and data warehouses, such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, and SQL Server
- Proven experience with enterprise-wide Tableau architectures, including governance and security models
- Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and performance optimization
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
- Fluency in English and German
- Experience with scripting or automation, such as Python, REST APIs, the Tableau Metadata API, or TabPy (a plus)
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and Infrastructure as Code (a plus)
- Experience with additional BI tools such as Power BI or MicroStrategy, or with data catalog tools (a plus)
- Background in data governance, data quality, or master data management (a plus)
- Tableau Certified Architect or Tableau Certified Data Analyst certification (an advantage)
