About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Complete a highly selective 12-week summer internship in one of four AI Labs disciplines
Design, build, and ship AI-powered products in Product Engineering
Translate customer needs into product strategy and define priorities in Product Management
Develop and deploy AI solutions for real-world customer challenges in FDE / Builders
Reimagine enterprise workflows and operations using AI in DET / Customer Zero
Build and deliver solutions addressing technical, product, or customer challenges
Use AI-native development tools, AI agents, and emerging technologies
Collaborate with interns across disciplines on a cross-functional capstone project
Own assigned projects from problem definition and experimentation through development and delivery
Present the capstone solution, approach, and impact at an in-person Demo Day to an executive panel
Engage with engineering, product, FDE, and DET teams through mentorship, workshops, and cohort experiences
Potentially transition into Salesforce's 24-month AI Labs Rotational Fellowship or full-time opportunities following graduation

Requirements

What you’ll need

Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical discipline
Graduating between December 2027 and June 2028
Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, software engineering, and technical problem-solving
Experience developing software through academic projects, research, internships, or independent technical projects
Proficiency in Python
Experience building software, AI, or machine learning applications
Understanding of core AI/ML concepts
Experience using modern AI development tools
Demonstrated curiosity, high ownership, and ability to solve complex problems in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate across disciplines and explain technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
Portfolio evidence of building, deploying, or open-sourcing software or AI applications
Previous internship, research, or project experience in software engineering, data engineering, machine learning, product development, or solutions architecture
Experience working across engineering, product, design, or customer-facing teams
Exposure to cloud infrastructure, scalable data processing frameworks such as Spark and SQL, or MLOps pipelines for model deployment
