About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner with Account Executives on deals involving API usage, rate limits, or platform consumption
  • Serve as the technical expert in customer conversations, explaining API mechanics, usage patterns, and spend implications
  • Use the usage forecasting calculator to size credit- or flat-rate deals and explain the rationale
  • Identify accounts to prioritize for API-related deals based on usage patterns
  • Meet customers’ technical teams to scope requirements and validate usage assumptions
  • Maintain the usage calculator as rate cards and packaging evolve
  • Feed field learnings to Product and Pricing teams and recommend rate-card or calculator improvements
  • Build reusable frameworks and playbooks for AE self-service
  • Advise on API-related deal terms with AEs and Deal Desk
  • Own the customer-facing technical and quantitative conversation without owning deal closure or quota
  • Report directly to Zach Ciliotta-Young and partner with Sales and Product Strategy & Operations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years in a technical, customer-facing, or pricing/consumption-modeling role
  • Deep fluency in APIs, rate limiting, and usage-based pricing models
  • Comfortable owning and defending a quantitative model in front of a skeptical customer or seller
  • Track record partnering with sales teams on complex technical or commercial deals
  • Strong communication skills; equally credible with technical and business stakeholders
  • Experience translating field and customer feedback into product or pricing input
  • Deep API fluency
  • Experience with usage-based or metered pricing, token economics, or enterprise cost optimization is a strong fit
