About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Work directly with leadership within enterprise business units
Maintain a current, prioritized risk register for the business unit
Weigh compensating controls and distinguish top risks from lower priorities
Make final risk calls at senior grade levels
Engage with business unit architecture
Lead security design reviews and threat models
Advocate well-reasoned security positions with increasing independence at senior grade levels
Use AI tooling such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar to accelerate analysis while applying judgment about when human review is needed
Provide business units with appropriate security expertise
Represent the business unit’s voice in security forums
Drive risk remediation plans and bug closure to completion
Sequence the highest-impact work first and establish clear ownership and accountability

Requirements

What you’ll need

3+ years experience in cybersecurity, IT risk, or a closely related discipline within a large, complex enterprise or consulting environment
Years of experience commensurate with the level being applied for
Strong understanding of security control methodologies and frameworks, including COSO, NIST CSF, and NIST SP 800-53
Ability to translate security control methodologies and frameworks into business-relevant risk
Strong, defensible technical point of view
Ability to prioritize risk with clarity and conviction
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Ability to build trust with cross-functional and remote stakeholders
Comfortable operating under ambiguity and tight deadlines
CISSP, CISA, CISM, or equivalent certification is preferred
Hands-on fluency with AI/ML security considerations, agentic architectures, or cloud identity systems is preferred
Experience integrating acquired entities or working in a regulated industry is preferred
Experience in or close collaboration with a BISO-type role is preferred
Comfortable presenting a technical point of view to senior technical and business leaders
