About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and build a core agent framework hosting specialized capabilities and orchestrating subtasks
Define contracts for reusable agent skills, including API design, versioning, and composability
Build evaluation infrastructure to measure non-deterministic agent output quality and detect regressions
Help agents find relevant records and context using structured queries, catalogs, and semantic search
Build and ship secure, optimized, production-grade software using modern engineering practices and AI development tools
Contribute to the shared system context containing system designs, constraints, and standards
Evaluate human- and AI-generated code for correctness, quality, security, and performance
Collaborate with the Experience The Agentic Setup team to build AI-agent experiences for product setup and configuration

Requirements

What you’ll need

6+ years experience designing and building large scale, distributed backend systems
Experience with API design, versioning, and building systems that many teams build on top of
Strong skills in at least one modern programming language and experience shipping production code
Ability to reason clearly about ambiguous, large scale systems and communicate tradeoffs to a team
Demonstrated, genuine AI-first approach to engineering using AI tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or Cursor
Advanced prompt engineering skills and ability to write precise, structured prompts
Related technical degree
Experience with AI agents, LLM-based systems, or evaluation infrastructure for non-deterministic outputs is an advantage
Experience with retrieval systems such as semantic search or structured data catalogs is an advantage
Experience migrating purpose-built automation into general, composable APIs is an advantage
