About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and govern the design of complex, multi-phased MuleSoft integration projects
- Ensure adherence to API-led connectivity and integration patterns
- Identify opportunities and efficiencies in customers' IT operating models
- Support implementation of the SDLC pipeline to maximize MuleSoft platform value
- Define and scale enterprise integration best practices, reference architectures, foundational assets, and API patterns
- Establish and enforce DevOps models, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, alerting, operational standards, and full API lifecycle management
- Scale best practices globally through reusable assets, reference architectures, and implementations
- Enable field teams and partners to improve delivery and customer success
- Lead requirements workshops and deliver architectural blueprint documents
- Guide product direction by identifying gaps and providing insights to leadership
- Advise client executives and internal sales and delivery teams throughout pre-sales and project delivery
- Mentor and coach junior architects, engineers, and consultants
- Drive decisions for complex technical challenges across integration solutions
- Engage with MuleSoft Product Management and Engineering to relay feedback and influence the platform roadmap
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years of IT experience with 5+ years leading complex integration and solution architecture initiatives
- 2+ years of hands-on MuleSoft experience or similar experience
- Proficiency in API-led connectivity and integration patterns
- Expertise in High Availability (HA), scalability, SDLC, and full API lifecycle management
- Experience architecting, implementing, and supporting enterprise-grade technical solutions
- Experience defining full API lifecycle management from design and development through deployment, operations, and governance
- Exceptional customer-facing communication and expectation management skills
- Experience managing and architecting multiple technical integration projects using SDLC end-to-end
- Experience architecting service integrations with MuleSoft and other integration solutions
- Understanding of API security principles, including authentication, authorization, and security policies
- U.S. citizenship required; candidate must not hold dual citizenship
- Must complete and maintain the required U.S. federal government background investigation and Moderate Public Trust clearance
- Preferred: Active Secret-level security clearance
- Preferred expertise in microservices, Service Mesh, Serverless, MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, API Management, Exchange, Flex Gateway
- Preferred experience leading technical workshops
- Preferred knowledge of NIST, ISO 27001, FISMA, HIPAA, and SOX
- Preferred certifications: CKA, CISSP, CISM, or Security+
- Preferred multi-cloud proficiency with AWS, Azure, and GCP
- Preferred DevOps experience with Git, Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, and CI/CD
- Preferred networking and infrastructure knowledge, including TCP/IP, HTTP, VPN, DNS, SSL/TLS, and load balancing
- Preferred proficiency in at least two of Bash, Go, Python, Ruby, Node.js, Rust, and Java
- Preferred working knowledge of RDBMS, NoSQL, distributed key-value stores, and time-series databases
