About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build and ship high-quality, production-grade software with AI as a core part of the development workflow
Design and orchestrate complex systems where AI agents integrate into human workflows
Architect and maintain resilient backend services integrating LLMs via external APIs
Implement observability frameworks using logs, metrics, and traces for long-running AI jobs
Evaluate human- and AI-generated code for correctness, quality, security, and performance
Develop test automation and quality tooling
Generate unit and CI tests, analyze test failures, and improve flake awareness
Work in person three days per week, or 10 days per quarter for some engineering teams

Requirements

What you’ll need

4+ years of professional Java development experience
Demonstrated, genuine AI-first approach to engineering
Experience using AI tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or Cursor in active development workflows
Ability to design, iterate on, and test system and user prompts producing structured, parseable LLM outputs
Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs
Working knowledge of AWS, including S3, STS, KMS, Lambda, and DynamoDB
Experience with Bazel or Maven
Strong willingness to work in a monorepo
Experience with Jenkins or equivalent CI/CD pipelines
Experience creating Docker images and operating containers
Experience with TypeScript (Node) and/or Python service development is a strong plus
