About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Deliver cloud infrastructure automation tools, frameworks, workflows, and validation platforms on public cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, Azure, or Alibaba
Design, develop, debug, and operate resilient distributed systems across thousands of compute nodes and multiple data centers
Build and ship production-grade software using modern engineering practices and AI development tools
Use and contribute to open source technologies such as Spinnaker and Zookeeper
Develop Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform
Write microservices using containerization frameworks such as Kubernetes, Docker, and Mesos
Design and orchestrate complex systems where AI agents integrate into human workflows
Contribute to shared system context containing system designs, constraints, and standards
Critically evaluate human- or AI-generated code for correctness, quality, security, and performance
Resolve complex technical issues and drive improvements in system availability, resilience, and performance
Balance live-site management, feature delivery, and technical debt retirement
Participate in the team’s on-call rotation to keep services operational and highly available

Requirements

What you’ll need

U.S. citizenship
Must operate on U.S. soil
Ability to meet customer and government screening standards
Criminal Justice Information Services screening with fingerprint scan
Citizenship verification through two qualifying REAL ID Act documents
A related technical degree required
3+ years backend software development experience
Deep knowledge of Java, Golang, Python, or Ruby
Experience owning and operating multiple instances of a critical service
Experience with Agile development methodology and Test Driven Development
Experience with critical infrastructure services, including monitoring, alerting, logging, and reporting applications
Experience with distributed database systems and relational databases such as Postgres is a plus
Demonstrated genuine AI-first approach to engineering
Experience using AI tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or Cursor in development workflows
Advanced prompt engineering skills
Ability to write precise, structured prompts and cultivate system context for reliable, secure, production-ready AI outputs
