About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build strong, sustainable, and AI-powered developer tooling for the Slack iOS app
Enable Slack feature engineers to solve complicated problems quickly through developer workflows and intelligent tools
Pioneer an agentic software development lifecycle using autonomous workflows
Integrate AI coding agents into the development pipeline through software factories, agentic automated testing, PR generation, code reviews, and boilerplate refactoring
Monitor and improve CI stability, TimeToMerge, and build time metrics
Identify and resolve pipeline bottlenecks through intelligent automation
Debug complex Bazel cache misses and broken CI pipelines
Lead others and mentor and grow iOS engineers
Set high standards for technical design and code quality across Slack’s iOS codebase
Demonstrate ownership across the entire Slack iOS codebase

Requirements

What you’ll need

10+ years of experience building and maintaining complex iOS tooling from CI to CD
Deep expertise with Swift, Bazel, Python, and Xcode tools
Hands-on experience with Agentic SDLC workflows, including AI coding agents such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot Workspace, or custom LLM scripts
Ability to monitor and improve CI stability, TimeToMerge, and build time metrics
Deep familiarity with the Apple ecosystem, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing tools, and scripting such as Python and bash
A related technical degree required
Experience using Slack and a keen interest in making it better
Prior experience in an iOS developer experience role
