Key responsibilities & impact

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Currently enrolled in a PhD program and in good academic standing
  • At least two years of research experience
  • Record of publishing at respected conferences or journals in data visualization, human-computer interaction, databases, or machine learning
  • Ability to build functional research prototypes quickly in a programming language or framework such as JavaScript/React, Python, R, or C++
  • Ability to scope problems, prioritize important questions, and deliver results within a fixed timeline
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work with people from different backgrounds and seek feedback
  • Previous research internship experience is a plus
  • Experience setting up user studies and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data is a plus
  • User experience, interaction, or visualization design work examples are a plus for interface-focused projects
  • Publications at venues such as VIS, EuroVis, CHI, UIST, SIGMOD, IUI, CSCW, AAAI, ACL, EMNLP, NAACL, or NeurIPS are a plus
