About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage an assigned territory and grow salons' overall sales
- Identify key accounts, establish efficient customer routes, and develop existing customers while seeking new partnerships
- Demonstrate and assist customers with planning, implementing, monitoring, and tracking in-salon promotions and programs
- Determine customer needs and recommend products and services
- Communicate vendor sales initiatives and work toward monthly, quarterly, and annual corporate sales goals
- Respond to email, text, and phone communications within 24 hours
- Analyze accounts to determine needed brand support, education, and promotions
- Visit customers in person to execute sales goals
- Process and pick up returns and complete required documentation
- Collaborate with customer service, accounts receivable, IT, and other business functions
- Prospect for new customers through cold calling, social media, and digital outlets
- Enter daily orders and maintain customer information and activity in Salesforce.com
- Attract and retain salon clientele through social media communication, promotion, education, and product knowledge
- Conduct in-person and virtual product knowledge classes
- Report calls, visits, orders, sales progress, follow-up plans, and assistance needs to the Manager
- Share digital platform and social media expertise with peers
- Attend meetings, functions, events, shows, and conventions; set up and dismantle displays and booths and handle back stock
- Support new initiatives and change management
- Pursue continuous learning, product knowledge, industry knowledge, and professional development
- Schedule and attend business development days to increase product knowledge and build vendor relationships
- Optimize time for available learning resources
- Build market knowledge and respond to competitive market changes
- Maintain an organized work environment and workflow
- Perform driving, sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, squatting, reaching, and lifting up to 25 lbs
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent certification
- Minimum of (1) year demonstrated outside sales experience or beauty industry experience with emphasis on consultative selling
- Must live within the assigned territory
- Working knowledge of inventory control systems and visual merchandising is strongly preferred
- Excellent knowledge and experience using Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and other social media platforms to build pipelines, books of business, and other business needs
- Excellent computer skills, knowledge of salesforce.com, Outlook, PDF Expert, and Oracle; experience with iPad a plus
- Ability to build an online community and create social connections using search engines and other internet tools
- Ability to travel locally within the territory and attend shows, conventions, and educational events, including possible overnight travel and weekend nights
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
- Frequent and sometimes prolonged periods of driving
- Committed to working scheduled hours with flexibility to work additional hours based on changing business needs
- Strong time management and organization skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to present a professional business image and interact positively with the public
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing, at all levels
- Must have a vehicle for traveling throughout the territory
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
