About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Run production infrastructure across several platforms
Own IMP, Salsify's internal management platform using Go, Temporal and GraphQL
Provision services, manage secrets, run Kubernetes operations and deploy through IMP
Operate the security programme with InfoSec, including cloud posture, vulnerability management, secrets rotation and access management
Deliver a roadmap covering platform migrations, version-currency upgrades, cost reduction and new platform capabilities
Manage a team of 7 across several timezones
Balance roadmap work and reactive work
Represent infrastructure to product teams, engineering leadership, finance and procurement
Support the team's growth and healthiness

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience managing engineers in an infrastructure, platform or SRE context
Tactical strength and comfort working in technical detail
Track record of protecting a team's focus while handling external requests
Ability to work with senior, opinionated engineers while preserving their autonomy
Clear written communication and ability to translate technical trade-offs for non-technical audiences
Comfort with ambiguity and change
Hands-on familiarity with Kubernetes, Terraform and AWS (strongly preferred)
Experience with cloud cost management and vendor negotiation (strongly preferred)
Experience in a security-conscious environment, including SOC/ISO audit exposure or vulnerability management programmes (strongly preferred)
Experience managing across timezones (strongly preferred)
