About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Define training requirements, learning goals, and user needs for customers and partners
Craft and build learning and credentialing experiences in online learning, audio, video, and in-app formats
Use AI-based content-authoring and multimedia tools to develop content rapidly and iteratively
Improve instructional development processes, models, and tooling
Solicit reviews from partners and subject-matter experts and review content and assessments
Own an assigned Samsara product area, beginning with Safety, by monitoring updates and maintaining its curriculum
Partner with leadership on incoming requests
Build product expertise through research, AI tools, and collaboration with subject-matter experts
Design and write engaging, effective assessments
Collaborate with Customer Success, Product, Sales, and Implementation teams
Champion and embed Samsara’s values and operating principles as the company scales globally

Requirements

What you’ll need

3–5+ years of learning design or instructional design experience in a software/SaaS setting
Knowledge of instructional design standard methodologies
Proven ability to craft effective and engaging learning content
Ability to communicate abstract or technical information to technical and non-technical audiences visually and in writing
Ability to identify appropriate learning delivery formats for specific objectives
Collaboration and teamwork skills
Attention to design aesthetics and visual detail
Knowledge of content development tools such as Parta.io, Articulate, Camtasia, Zoom, and Clueso
Comfort working within an AI-driven content development process, including AI-assisted authoring, review, and iteration
Experience developing in-app training or contextual product education
Must reside in the US, except the San Francisco Bay Metro Area, NYC Metro Area, and Washington, D.C. Metro Area
Must secure and maintain the legal right to work at the company and in the specified work location, if applicable
