About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver security assessments of Samsara’s software, code, and firmware against AI-driven and adversarial attacks, and implement fixes
  • Translate general AI security findings into Samsara-specific application security fixes, including for hardware and embedded firmware
  • Find AI-specific and traditional vulnerabilities such as injection and IDOR using AI-driven offensive validation
  • Build and pressure-test AI-enabled security tooling and workflows, and drive adoption across the security organization
  • Benchmark new frontier models against previous models for security tasks
  • Define release criteria and guardrails for safely adopting AI models
  • Support AppSec vulnerability triage through an office-hours rotation
  • Help run the bug bounty program, potentially expanding it to hardware
  • Partner with engineering, hardware, and leadership
  • Present findings to security and executive leadership as Samsara’s AI-related security risk expert
  • Define and drive Samsara’s medium- and long-term strategy for safe and effective AI adoption in security operations
  • Use frontier AI/LLM tools for offensive validation and defensive tooling
  • Champion and embed Samsara’s cultural principles across the organization

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8+ years of experience in application security, vulnerability management, threat modeling, offensive security, or a closely related discipline
  • Demonstrated application fix impact and influence across a large part of an organization
  • Hands-on experience building AI or agentic workflows for security use cases
  • Experience conducting technical security assessments across software and hardware/firmware environments
  • Experience creating secure-code solutions with engineers using languages such as GoLang
  • Experience developing AI and agentic solutions using GitHub and AWS cloud
  • Required experience integrating, securing, or red-teaming AI-enabled systems, including LLMs, agentic workflows, prompt injection, or adversarial testing
  • Ability to secure and maintain the legal right to work in the company and specified work location
  • Ideal: Experience with AI-specific attack techniques, including prompt injection, jailbreaks, and model/agent abuse
  • Ideal: Experience building or validating security controls for agentic AI, RAG systems, or LLM-integrated platforms
  • Ideal: Experience red-teaming LLM-enabled systems
  • Ideal: Experience evaluating or benchmarking LLMs
  • Ideal: Bug bounty platform experience, such as Bugcrowd
  • Ideal: Experience in federal or FedRAMP-style environments
  • Ideal: Track record of driving organization-wide security strategy or presenting technical findings to senior/executive stakeholders
  • Ideal: Relevant industry certifications, such as OSCP, GIAC, CISSP, or AWS certifications
