About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the design and evolution of systems combining real-time data processing, AI-powered insights, and customer-facing product experiences
Own end-to-end development of customer-facing products and platform capabilities from design and implementation through rollout and operational excellence
Ship product experiences quickly, validate them with customers, and iterate toward scalable, high-impact solutions
Build AI-powered workflows and experiences using LLM and agentic technologies, evaluations, feedback loops, and human-in-the-loop systems
Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Design, ML, and platform teams across web, mobile, APIs, and downstream integrations
Lead complex technical initiatives, resolve ambiguity, drive architectural decisions, and improve system quality and scalability
Participate in customer interviews and collaborate with customer success and product managers
Champion Samsara’s cultural principles as the company scales globally and across new offices

Requirements

What you’ll need

4+ years of experience building, shipping, and operating scalable and reliable customer-facing production systems
Experience developing end-to-end solutions across backend services, APIs, and modern web applications
Ability to move quickly, navigate ambiguity, and make thoughtful technical tradeoffs
Experience or demonstrated interest in AI-native development, including LLMs, evaluations, and agentic workflows
Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering and cross-functional partners
Growth mindset, strong product intuition, and excitement for learning new technologies and building impactful customer experiences
Ideal: Experience building and scaling customer-facing AI/LLM-powered products in production environments
Ideal: Experience with Go, GraphQL, TypeScript, React, and AWS
Ideal: Familiarity with LLM evaluation, monitoring, optimization, feedback loops, observability, and cost/performance tuning
Ideal: Experience in fast-paced, highly collaborative environments with distributed teams
