About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop, review, and implement designs and improvements for drilling equipment to increase performance, reliability, and safety
- Evaluate the performance of equipment and solutions implemented in the field, identifying opportunities for improvement and tracking results
- Lead testing, validation, and acceptance processes for new designs, modifications, and improvements with technical and operational teams
- Develop and review fixtures, special tools, and engineering solutions to support maintenance and operations activities
- Perform engineering calculations and prepare technical drawings, specifications, and documentation required for project execution
- Collaborate with local and global engineering, quality, and technical support teams to resolve issues and implement product improvements
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by supporting technical investigations, quality corrections, and engineering changes
- Visit customers and mining operations to understand equipment applications, gather feedback, and support the development of solutions
- Prepare technical reports and periodically present the results, projects, and initiatives undertaken
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Active CREA registration
- Advanced/fluent English
- Knowledge of mobile equipment, preferably drilling equipment
- Proficiency in CAD software, preferably UG/NX
- Experience with PDM systems, preferably Teamcenter
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of ASTM, ISO, and SAE engineering standards
- Ability to interpret FEA and Ansys analyses
- Knowledge of machining and manufacturing processes
- Ability to prepare technical reports and field test reports
- Willingness to travel
- Open to people with disabilities and workers rehabilitated through Brazil’s INSS social security system
