About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide logistics engineering support to C4, Burgersfort and selected Core Network operations
  • Analyse warehouse capacity, utilisation, material flow, layouts and operational processes
  • Identify operational constraints, inefficiencies and improvement opportunities
  • Support warehouse and logistics optimisation initiatives to improve productivity, cost and service performance
  • Collect, analyse and interpret operational and logistics data
  • Develop and maintain performance reports, dashboards and analytical tools
  • Develop business cases and cost-benefit analyses for logistics initiatives and projects
  • Support optimisation and ongoing development of WMS/TMS and SAP processes
  • Investigate and resolve system-related issues with operational and IT stakeholders
  • Support systems implementation, stabilisation and continuous improvement activities
  • Contribute to SAP EWM readiness and warehouse digitalisation initiatives
  • Identify, develop and implement continuous improvement opportunities
  • Map current and future-state processes and support logistics process standardisation
  • Develop, review and maintain SOPs, work instructions and process documentation
  • Provide logistics engineering support to operational and strategic projects
  • Assist with warehouse expansions, infrastructure changes, system implementations and process redesign
  • Support project planning, implementation and post-implementation reviews
  • Prepare presentations, reports and recommendations for management
  • Work with cross-functional teams to implement initiatives successfully

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Logistics Engineering, or a closely related discipline
  • 5–8+ years of relevant professional experience in logistics engineering, industrial engineering, supply chain, warehousing, distribution or a similar operational environment
  • Proven experience in a logistics engineering or industrial engineering role within a complex warehouse, distribution or supply chain environment
  • Demonstrated experience across multiple operational functions and/or sites
  • Experience in process optimisation, continuous improvement and operational performance improvement
  • Experience analysing operational data and converting insights into practical business improvements
  • Experience in warehouse capacity planning, space utilisation, warehouse layouts, material flow and process design
  • Experience developing and implementing SOPs, process standards, workflows and operating models
  • Experience developing business cases, cost-benefit analyses, investment justifications and management recommendations
  • Experience supporting or leading logistics projects, system implementations, process changes and operational transformation initiatives
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, modelling, reporting and dashboard development
  • Proven experience with SAP, preferably SAP S/4HANA and/or SAP EWM
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transport Management Systems (TMS)
  • Experience supporting WMS/TMS implementation, optimisation, stabilisation and continuous improvement
  • Understanding of the relationship between ERP, WMS, TMS and operational processes
  • Experience identifying system gaps and translating operational requirements into system requirements
  • Exposure to systems integration, automation, digitalisation and data-driven supply chain initiatives
  • Experience with Power BI, dashboard development, data modelling or other business intelligence platforms
  • Strategic and analytical thinking, commercial awareness, problem-solving and decision-making
  • Stakeholder management, influencing and communication, project leadership and change management
  • Ability to work independently and translate strategic objectives into practical operational solutions
  • Postgraduate qualification and relevant professional certifications are advantageous, not required
