About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Independently manage research projects, including experiment design, execution, and strategy setting
- Participate in formal and informal presentations of results to the lab
- Maintain a detailed notebook of work-related activities
- Participate in grant application processes and manuscript preparation

Requirements
What you’ll need- PhD in Biomedical Sciences, Chemical Biology, or a closely related field is required
- 4+ years of hands-on bench research experience
- Experience in chemical biology or small molecule drug discovery
- Demonstrated ability to conduct and publish research projects
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Excellent data presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, analytical, time management, and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to work onsite in San Diego
- Out-of-state applicants must disclose willingness to relocate
- Ability to stand for extended periods and move between workstations
- Capability to lift and carry equipment and materials, typically up to 25 pounds, with occasional heavier items
- Fine motor skills for handling delicate instruments and samples
- Comfort with repetitive tasks such as pipetting or using laboratory machinery
- Ability to distinguish colors and details in specimens and data
- Flexibility to reach and access equipment or samples stored at various heights
