About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Contribute to development and execution of the medical and scientific strategy for the COVID and Influenza franchise in the US
  • Lead development and execution of Medical external engagement strategy and tactics for the franchise country medical road map and regional medical road maps
  • Act as a scientific subject matter expert and maintain world-class competency in the field
  • Establish and foster strategic relationships with external key opinion leaders, professional societies, immunization advisory bodies, and patient advocacy groups
  • Support quality decision making with external groups determining immunization policy nationally and at strategic accounts
  • Collaborate with Medical Regional Strategic Account Directors and Medical Science Liaisons during external engagement
  • Contribute to the global franchise integrated Evidence Generation Plan
  • Discuss iEGP strategy with external experts for validation and insights
  • Foster collaboration with external partners to serve approved research goals
  • Collaborate with global Medical and R&D to conduct epidemiological studies and clinical trials in the US
  • Lead external Medical engagement strategy and tactics for the franchise
  • Act as country Medical expert for strategic and tactical planning
  • Provide scientific expertise to internal stakeholders
  • Train field-based medical teams on current and new publications and related assets

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Advanced degree in scientific/medical field of infectious disease and vaccines, or related discipline (MD, PharmD, PhD)
  • 5+ years of Medical Affairs experience related to pharmaceutical medical affairs, clinical or academic medicine, or public health
  • Relevant clinical experience or track record of peer reviewed publications in the US
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time
  • Postgraduate qualification and publication in Infectious Diseases preferred
  • Past Medical Affairs experience within the pharmaceutical / biotechnology industry preferred
  • Prior experience in an external stakeholder facing role, such as governmental collaboration, preferred
  • Recognized by other vaccine experts as being expert in vaccinology or a related discipline preferred
