About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Mobilise and deliver a bank-wide Account Blocks Journey & Control Framework
  • Establish end-to-end journey ownership, governance arrangements and RACI models across the account block lifecycle
  • Create and maintain an inventory of account block types, controls, ownership, systems, MI and associated risks
  • Define minimum control standards, service levels, escalation processes and evidence requirements
  • Drive cross-functional engagement with business, operational and risk stakeholders
  • Develop management information and monitoring approaches for control effectiveness and customer outcomes
  • Identify control gaps, operational risks and improvement opportunities
  • Support prioritisation of remediation activity
  • Provide governance updates and recommendations to senior leadership and risk committees

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Significant experience in operational risk, non-financial risk, governance, controls, conduct risk or customer journey management within financial services
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional programmes involving multiple business areas and stakeholders
  • Degree level qualification or equivalent professional experience
  • English language proficiency
  • Great understanding of risk and control frameworks within a regulated financial services environment
  • Experience designing governance frameworks, operating models and accountability structures
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills across all organisational levels
  • Great communication and presentation skills, including preparing material for executive governance forums
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity and drive outcomes across complex organisational structures
  • Experience working with regulators, audit teams or assurance functions on control environment improvements (Preferred)
  • Professional Risk, Compliance, Audit or Governance qualification (Preferred)
  • Excellent analytical and MI development capabilities (Preferred)
