About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Answer and respond to daily inquiries and requests from the client
  • Forward calls to alternate billing departments as necessary
  • Determine customer issue resolutions while adhering to client rules and expectations
  • Process requests to add or edit insurance and patient demographic information
  • Assist Department Managers with client account issues by researching and obtaining documentation
  • Work with hospitals, insurance providers, attorneys, and patients
  • Scan and mail checks to the lockbox
  • Meet or exceed production standards while maintaining quality
  • Develop an understanding of internal departments and their collaboration toward payment of EMS claims
  • Handle correspondence by mail, email, and telephone
  • Comply with company policies, Corporate Compliance Program, and Standards of Business Ethics guidelines
  • Assist senior management in identifying and implementing efficient processing methods and procedures
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Strong computer skills
  • Basic understanding of MS Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Minimum typing speed of 40 wpm
  • Must be a quick learner and willing to ask questions
  • Able to handle pressure while maintaining composure and demonstrating empathy
  • Positive attitude and professional, polite, considerate, and courteous conduct
  • Ability to work independently and be accountable for your work
  • Ability to handle large volumes of work while meeting tight deadlines
  • Ability to identify issues, ask appropriate questions, and determine solutions
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to multitask, organize, and prioritize tasks
  • Strong follow-through
  • Must be punctual and dependable
  • Collaborative team player able to work with all internal departments
  • Previous experience dealing with the public is helpful
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, but not required
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination
  • Must provide documentation of required vaccinations in accordance with client and regulatory requirements
