About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage daily revenue accounting operations, including high-volume transaction processing and accurate revenue recognition under ASC 606
  • Own the month-end revenue close process, including revenue journal entries and reconciliations for revenue, deferred revenue, and unbilled receivables
  • Manage accounts receivable accounting, including custodian cash application, A/R reconciliations, and aging analysis
  • Ensure accurate commission calculations and recognition under US GAAP
  • Lead quarterly CECL aging analysis under ASC 326
  • Ensure compliance with SEC and FINRA rules and reporting
  • Perform month-end close flux analysis and explain significant variances in revenue, commissions, and A/R balances
  • Collaborate with Operations, RevOps, Sales, Legal, and other business partners
  • Support revenue accounting system design, implementation, testing, and optimization
  • Serve as subject matter expert for revenue and A/R accounting questions
  • Lead audit coordination and serve as primary contact for external auditors during the year-end audit
  • Maintain documentation for revenue, commissions, and A/R processes
  • Design processes and policies and build the Campfire revenue module

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • CPA with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years in the financial services industry
  • Direct experience at a wealth management firm, RIA, or broker-dealer
  • Understanding of AUM fee billing, custodian cash flows, and revenue share payout models
  • Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and ASC 326
  • Experience with custodian cash application, accounts receivable accounting, and financial reporting
  • Proficiency with mainstream ERP systems and revenue engines such as NetSuite, Campfire, Orion, and AdvicePay
  • Experience collaborating across departments to influence change
  • Attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and strong teamwork
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong ownership and independence, with the ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and drive initiatives to completion with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work four days per week in-office in Manhattan
  • Based in New York or willing to relocate to New York
  • Must address current or future US work sponsorship requirements
