About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assign and directly supervise custodial employees maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of assigned areas
- Coordinate and supervise Custodial program activities
- Train and instruct employees on tasks, safety, policies, and procedures
- Ensure custodial services meet site needs
- Ensure personnel have necessary equipment and supplies; issue supplies as needed
- Conduct quality, service, and safety inspections and report results, repairs, and deficiencies
- Evaluate and recommend new custodial supplies and equipment through testing
- Inspect contractor work to ensure specified contract services are provided
- Report personnel, customer, accident, and incident issues to supervisors
- Interview, hire, plan, assign, and direct work
- Ensure team members follow SBM policies and procedures
- Drive operational excellence through training, coaching, discipline, and encouragement
- Address complaints and resolve problems
- Monitor proper use of personal protective equipment and supplies
- Recommend corrective action for areas needing improvement
- Review and maintain employee records, including attendance and metric data
- Correct at-risk behavior and report it to the supervisor immediately
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or a related field from a four-year college or university with 3–5 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- May be required to have a valid driver’s license
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and safely
- Knowledge, skill, and ability required to perform custodial supervision duties
- Ability to interview, hire, plan, assign, direct, evaluate, reward, and discipline employees
- Ability to ensure employees are properly trained on tasks and safety requirements
- Ability to address complaints and resolve problems
- Ability to comply with SBM policies, procedures, applicable laws, sanitation regulations, and OSHA regulations
- Ability to sit regularly, walk and use hands frequently, and stand occasionally
