About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assign and directly supervise custodial employees maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of assigned areas
- Coordinate and supervise custodial program activities
- Train and instruct employees on tasks, safety, policies, and procedures
- Ensure custodial services meet site needs
- Ensure custodial personnel have necessary equipment and supplies; issue supplies as needed
- Conduct quality, service, and safety inspections and report results, repairs, and deficiencies
- Evaluate and recommend custodial supplies and equipment through testing
- Inspect contractor work to ensure specified contract services are provided
- Report employee, customer, accident, and incident issues to the supervisor
- Interview, hire, plan, assign, and direct work
- Ensure compliance with SBM policies, procedures, sanitation regulations, OSHA regulations, and applicable laws
- Provide training, coaching, discipline, encouragement, corrective-action recommendations, and performance evaluations
- Address complaints and resolve problems
- Monitor proper use of personal protective equipment and supplies
- Review and maintain employee attendance and metric records
- Correct at-risk behavior and report it to the supervisor immediately
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or a related field from a four-year college or university with 3-5 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to drive and clear and maintain a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- May be required to have a valid driver’s license
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and safely
- Ability to supervise, train, instruct, coach, discipline, and encourage custodial employees
- Knowledge of sanitation and OSHA regulations
- Ability to inspect areas, equipment, working conditions, and contract services
- Bilingual ideal candidate
