About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Safely perform assigned floor care functions according to standards and procedures
Perform environmental services as needed
Wax, strip, buff, and maintain floors according to regulations and contractual duties
Operate and maintain motorized cleaning equipment correctly and safely
Clean and maintain tile, carpet, and brick flooring
Use appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure
Maintain daily upkeep of assigned areas and a clean work area
Follow safety precautions and use required personal protective equipment and wet-floor signs
Complete assignments and punch-list items in a timely manner
Fill in during staff shortages in custodial, recycling, or maintenance functions
Work with employees and support the shift lead to complete assignments
Report safety hazards
Communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, coworkers, managers, and customers
Provide customer service and support customer satisfaction

Requirements

What you’ll need

No education requirement
6 months–1 year experience preferred
Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment
Knowledge of the upkeep and care of cleaning equipment
Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use
Complete all safety and task training certification
May be required to be forklift certified
A valid driver's license may be required based on business needs
Employees required to drive must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and meet company driving eligibility requirements
Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds
Ability to work without normal supervision
Ability to perform repetitive tasks
Ability to work safely and follow company procedures, policies, and rules
