About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Safely perform assigned floor care functions according to standards and procedures
  • Perform environmental services as needed
  • Wax, strip, buff, and otherwise maintain floors
  • Comply with safety rules, policies, procedures, and personal protective equipment requirements
  • Work with other employees to complete assignments
  • Maintain a clean work area and assigned areas
  • Fill in during staff shortages in custodial, recycling, or maintenance functions
  • Support the shift lead in completing punch-list items
  • Communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, co-workers, managers, and customers
  • Operate and maintain motorized cleaning equipment correctly and safely
  • Clean and maintain tile, carpet, and brick flooring
  • Use appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure
  • Observe safety precautions and use wet-floor signs
  • Report safety hazards
  • Complete work assignments in a timely manner
  • Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • No education requirement
  • 6 mo-1 year experience preferred
  • May be required to have a valid driver’s license
  • Complete all safety and task training certification
  • May be required to be forklift certified
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment
  • Knowledge of the upkeep and care of cleaning equipment
  • Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds
  • Sunday–Thursday availability, 9:30pm–6:00am shift
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks and work without normal supervision
  • Ability to operate motorized cleaning equipment safely
