About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee the day-to-day operations of a 3-star hotel with approximately 60 rooms
- Manage a team of approximately 20 to 30 employees
- Support managers and teams in developing their skills
- Organize operations and ensure the smooth functioning of the various departments
- Ensure the quality of the welcome and guest experience
- Ensure compliance with the hotel's standards and procedures
- Monitor key performance indicators and KPIs
- Analyze results and implement corrective actions
- Participate in the recruitment, onboarding, and retention of team members
- Manage sensitive operational and managerial situations
- Maintain a strong on-the-ground presence with employees
- Collaborate with the head office support functions: HR, accounting, marketing, and sales management
- Identify matters requiring head office support while retaining responsibility for operational decisions
- Identify performance gaps, understand their causes, propose action plans, engage teams around objectives, and monitor results
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong experience in hotel operations, ideally as a Hotel General Manager, experienced Deputy General Manager, Hotel Operations Manager, or in an equivalent role with significant operational responsibility
- Thorough understanding of the day-to-day operations of a hotel
- Experience and confidence in managing operational teams
- Ability to manage and unite a team of 20 to 30 employees
- Ability to remain hands-on while maintaining a broader perspective on operations
- Ability to develop team members and empower them to take ownership
- Experience managing recruitment, onboarding, and employee retention
- Ability to make decisions in complex operational situations
- Ability to monitor and analyze hotel performance
- Ability to turn KPIs into concrete actions
- Ability to work effectively with support functions and head office
- Ability to maintain an excellent level of service quality
- Strong management presence, a well-developed service mindset, and a genuine interest in the hospitality industry
- Availability for a fully on-site role, with no remote work, and flexibility in scheduling due to the demands of hotel operations
