About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own a design area within Sensors & Actuators (Mechatronics)
- Work collaboratively with R&D, Procurement, Customers, Suppliers, Production, Commercial teams, group companies, and other interface functions
- Develop and continuously improve existing products
- Execute, evaluate, and monitor functional, environmental, and electrical tests
- Propose testing methodologies to meet applicable standards, legislation, and TRATON criteria
- Analyze specification deviations and develop technical proposals
- Review hardware and software requirements, perform tests and measurements, and discuss findings with suppliers and interface functions
- Document development activities, modifications, and the introduction of new functionalities
- Provide information to TRATON Global Product Engineering teams in Sweden, Germany, the United States, and Brazil
- Represent TRATON before customers, suppliers, and educational institutions on technical matters
- Collaborate in a global Agile team with designers, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters from all TRATON brands
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience in electrical/electronic hardware design and testing, including development processes, within automotive OEMs or suppliers
- Experience in system/software testing is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related field
- Active CREA registration, or eligibility to obtain registration immediately upon approval
- Knowledge of CATIA V5
- Fluent English
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Office)
- Willingness to travel occasionally
- Act as a subject-matter reference for areas of responsibility within the global team
- Experience delivering global presentations, such as Design Reviews and Technical Meetings
- Knowledge of the development process from concept through product launch
- Experience supporting other team members with onboarding and day-to-day activities
- Experience with or knowledge of project coordination and planning
- Product knowledge of heavy-duty vehicles, particularly trucks, is a plus
- Communicative, autonomous, proactive, collaborative, adaptable, and organized, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple activities
