About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead employees and work as a team to optimize production performance within the department
  • Increase efficiency and productivity of operators and equipment while ensuring consistent quality standards
  • Troubleshoot equipment and assist with changeovers and setups
  • Coordinate daily and monthly preventive maintenance and work schedules
  • Set an example for quality and good housekeeping practices
  • Provide assistance to operators
  • Maintain maintenance reports, incentive records, scrap records, SPC charts, and time and attendance/vacation schedules
  • Encourage continuous improvement through SPS activities and general problem-solving tools
  • Resolve conflicts, communicate openly, and drive production to meet organizational objectives
  • Adhere to and enforce company policies, safety standards, and housekeeping practices
  • Train and coach employees and provide feedback on performance, quality, and safety

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associates Degree in Machine Tool Technology, Associates Degree in Engineering Technology or a Certified Journeyman Card
  • 10 years of Tool and Die experience
  • Ability to use instruments for measuring and to identify defects
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English
  • Experience in the use of precision gaging and measuring equipment including ID, OD Depth and conventional micrometers
  • Good visual acuity
  • Ability to lift medium-heavy objects if required
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without employment visa or other sponsorship
  • Experience with a wide variety of manually operated machine tools including lathes, mills and grinders (OD/ID and Surface) (preferred)
  • Skilled in reading blueprints and interpreting dimensions and geometric tolerancing (preferred)
  • Understand and able to work with the Metric measurement system (preferred)
  • Experience working with power tools (preferred)
