About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operate battery-operated and/or gas-powered warehouse equipment to transport products to and from inventory storage locations
- Follow power equipment, OSHA, and facility safety rules and regulations
- Use personal protective equipment, including lanyards and harnesses when operating order/stock pickers
- Perform scanner functions including cycle counts, replenishment, item inquiry, and inventory put-away
- Stack products safely and neatly in racks or staging locations
- Maintain accurate inventory movement
- Inspect, maintain, or assist with equipment maintenance and report unsafe conditions
- Handle merchandise carefully to avoid damage
- Participate in physical inventory and customer appreciation warehouse sale events
- Meet required production, accuracy, and quality standards
- Assist with returned book fairs, customer reorders, loading and unloading trucks, and seasonal inventory resets as needed
- Keep the work area neat, clean, safe, and organized
- Complete labor data collection cards accurately and on time
- Maintain attendance and punctuality
- Maintain courteous and positive relationships with co-workers and customers
- Comply with drug and alcohol-free policy
- Perform additional assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED Certificate preferred
- Must be trained and licensed to operate power equipment
- Minimum 1 year power equipment operation experience for non-internal promotions
- Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program
- Basic product scanner proficiency
- Good verbal/written communication skills
- Basic math skills
- Ability to read safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals in English
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 50 lbs occasionally on a daily basis
- Ability to stand, reach, squat, bend, and kneel as necessary
- Ability to tolerate work in a non-air-conditioned environment
- Ability to complete required training and become certified to operate assigned powered industrial equipment
- Must be drug free and pass initial and future random drug screens
- Ability to correctly wear required personal protective equipment
