Customer Service Representative

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a direct liaison between Customers, Sales Representatives, and various Schuman Cheese departments
- Process orders received via fax, EDI, email, and phone
- Verify pricing and shipping dates within 24 hours after receipt
- Maintain order guides and pricing in the software system
- Communicate proactively with Production and Warehouse teams to avoid potential customer shorts
- Release lots and allocate items when needed
- Track order fulfillment and communicate shortages to customers, including product availability or substitute items
- Work with Accounting to resolve credit issues and release orders
- Process purchase order change requests, returns, and samples
- Handle customer issues and complaints by referring them to the appropriate department and logging them in the system
- Follow up on customer issues through resolution
- Communicate regularly with Sales, Supply Chain, Production, Logistics, and Warehousing
- Organize work to meet deadlines
- Assist the Sales Department in growing customer business
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3+ years’ experience in a customer service role, preferably in club channels
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- Experience working within Sage X3 or another similar ERP system is a plus
- Experience with EDI transaction sets
- Able to thrive in a fast paced environment and remain calm under pressure
- Works with a high sense of urgency
- Dependable and results oriented
- Self-directed and able to work well independently or in a team
- Organized with a high attention to detail, accuracy and follow through
- Above average written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Skilled in problem solving, research and time management
- Able to multi task
- Monday through Friday, 10AM-6PM CST
- Average 40–45 hours per week; additional overtime required during peak season months (October–December)
- Candidates must reside in Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Washington, Wyoming, or Wisconsin
