About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead marketing for Scope’s US business and own the US marketing strategy
- Lead integrated brand planning for the US portfolio, including OPTASE, Eyetamins and Optase Life
- Drive growth across the eyecare professional channel, OTC retail and Amazon
- Build brands with consumers and eyecare professionals
- Support Scope’s expanding national retail footprint
- Lead a remote US marketing team and develop team capability
- Partner with US Sales, Commercial and Medical and contribute to market commercial strategy
- Translate global brand and innovation direction into US positioning, campaigns and activation
- Set brand and channel priorities and manage toward measurable commercial outcomes
- Own Amazon marketing across content, search and retail media
- Build consumer and professional demand through content, digital, social, print, events, CRM and customer-facing programmes
- Support national retail growth through marketing, content and in-store activation
- Partner with Sales and Commercial on customer plans, sell-in stories and promotional activity
- Lead US new product launch campaigns through the GTM process
- Deliver launch plans for internal sales teams, HCP, retail and consumer campaigns
- Partner with Medical on eyecare professional and KOL engagement
- Set team standards for planning, quality and delivery
- Own the US marketing budget and allocate investment to growth opportunities
- Measure, analyse and report marketing performance and act on data
- Represent Scope with customers, eyecare professionals, KOLs and partners
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Life Sciences or a related field required
- Significant relevant industry experience may be considered as an equivalent to the required bachelor’s degree
- Proven experience leading marketing across OTC retail, the HCP or professional channel, and Amazon; experience across all three is essential
- Amazon marketing experience including content, search and retail media, with commercial understanding of the channel
- Experience owning a brand.com or D2C e-commerce channel is an advantage
- Demonstrated success leading a geographically dispersed, fully remote team
- Track record of building teams and developing talent
- Substantial experience marketing OTC or consumer health brands to consumers and healthcare professionals
- Eyecare, ophthalmology or optical experience is an advantage, but not required
- Experience with smaller, high-growth brands and US national retail accounts is highly valued
- 10+ years’ marketing experience, including significant time leading multi-disciplinary marketing teams
- Ability to set direction and contribute to commercial strategy alongside senior leadership
- Strong planning discipline and risk anticipation
- Leadership style fitting Scope’s culture and leadership behaviours
- Ability to own and manage a marketing budget
- Strong analytical capability using performance data and market insight
- High attention to detail and consistently high output standards
- Comfort operating in a regulated category with substantiated claims and Medical and Regulatory review
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and confident presentation ability
- Ability to build relationships and influence across functions and with external partners
- Willingness to travel regularly, primarily within the US, with some international travel as required
- Applicants must be authorised to work in the United States
- Ideally based in a metro area with a major hub airport
