About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive sales growth and market penetration across a defined healthcare locality
  • Focus on NHS payer stakeholders and healthcare professionals
  • Lead all aspects of the sales cycle
  • Take ownership of commercial activities and stakeholder relationships across primary and secondary NHS care providers
  • Execute the Infinity sales process end-to-end
  • Achieve or exceed sales targets across the Scope Ophthalmics portfolio, including Hylo and branded glaucoma generics
  • Develop and maintain understanding of ICBs, LHBs, HBs, local formularies, and ophthalmology patient pathways
  • Build relationships with NHS decision-makers, formulary committees, ophthalmologists, optometrists, pharmacists, and primary care stakeholders
  • Use business analytics, CRM data, ShowPad, and marketing materials to drive growth
  • Prepare and execute business plans aligned with company objectives and local NHS priorities
  • Collaborate with L&D, Commercial, Value & Outcomes, Projects Lead, Medical, and Marketing teams
  • Represent Scope Ophthalmics at meetings, conferences, and forums
  • Monitor competitor activity, NHS policy changes, and market trends
  • Report to the Area Sales Manager (ASM)
  • Demonstrate Scope’s values and maintain a professional, ethical, customer-focused approach

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Requires the successful candidate to reside in close proximity to North Cumbria, Humber & North Yorkshire
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably in life sciences, healthcare, business, or related field
  • ABPI qualification
  • Extensive experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare sales, ideally within ophthalmology or related specialties
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets in a complex, multi-stakeholder NHS environment
  • Strong knowledge of NHS structures, commissioning pathways, and local formularies
  • Ability to interpret and use sales analytics and business intelligence tools
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to influence stakeholders in clinical / therapeutic decision making and portfolio positioning
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage a large geographical territory effectively
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
  • Proficient in digital tools for sales presentations and remote engagement, including ShowPad and CRM systems
  • Flexibility to travel within the assigned locality and attend relevant events
  • Proactive and growth mindset with a customer-centric approach
