About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Respond to customer enquiries as part of the Field Response team
- Make quick, well-judged decisions to resolve issues efficiently and minimise disruption
- Protect the quality and integrity of new and existing water network assets
- Use modern leak detection equipment to find faults quickly
- Support efficient completion of repairs
- Work safely in accordance with Scottish Water health and safety policies and statutory requirements
- Follow DOMS policies and procedures and apply the hygiene code of practice
- Communicate empathetically and clearly with customers in challenging situations
- Manage workload, meet critical deadlines, and work independently and as part of a team
- Use IT systems and stay organised in a fast-paced environment
- Participate in a standby rota to maintain service coverage 365 days a year
Requirements
What you’ll need- Good working knowledge of industry standards and legislation, including HAUC specifications for reinstatement works and relevant Health and Safety requirements
- Understanding and application of water and sewer hygiene codes of practice, including DOMS
- Knowledge of Scottish Water DOMS policies and procedures
- Customer-focused with strong communication, reporting, and follow-up skills
- Confident problem solver able to manage queries and build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Flexibility and willingness to participate in a standby rota
- Confident use of IT systems
- Valid UK driving licence required for driving on Scottish Water business and claiming business mileage expenses
- Must be a Scottish taxpayer and have a home address in Scotland, or commit to moving to Scotland within the first three months
- May be subject to Drug & Alcohol testing
- Successful offers are conditional on pre-employment screening, including referencing, criminal record checks, and licence checks
