About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide regional oversight, coaching, and performance management for Anesthesia Operations Managers across assigned facility sites.
  • Set expectations and standardize operational execution.
  • Serve as the escalation point for issues requiring regional authority, cross-site coordination, or executive involvement.
  • Own regional staffing and coverage strategy, including call/after-hours coverage, premium shift and locum utilization, and annual minimum/shift-hour compliance.
  • Partner with Medical Directors/Chiefs and CRNA/CAA leadership to align anesthesia coverage with clinical needs and site requirements.
  • Lead growth strategy discussions with hospital and health system leadership regarding procedural service expansion, new sites, and anesthesia resource planning.
  • Develop and monitor regional performance metrics and dashboards; report trends, risks, and opportunities to Anesthesia Service Line leadership.
  • Partner with centralized Business Operations teams on credentialing, payroll, onboarding, scheduling systems, and technology such as QGenda.
  • Support regulatory and HR documentation requirements with centralized HR and Compliance teams; escalate and resolve gaps.
  • Represent the Anesthesia Service Line in regional perioperative governance and health system leadership meetings.
  • Lead recruitment, hiring, and succession planning for Anesthesia Operations Manager roles.
  • Partner with regional finance/operations leadership on staffing budgets, premium labor spend, and cost management.
  • Complete special projects and other assigned duties.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field, required.
  • 7+ years of healthcare operations, practice management, or facility administration experience.
  • 3+ years in a leadership role overseeing other operational leaders or managing multiple sites.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team of site-level operational leaders across multiple locations.
  • Strong executive presence and ability to build trusted relationships with hospital/health system C-suite, Medical Directors/Chiefs, and CRNA/CAA leadership.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to translate growth initiatives into actionable regional staffing and resource plans.
  • Financial acumen, including staffing budgets, premium labor costs, and regional P&L exposure.
  • Ability to standardize processes across sites while responding to local/site-specific needs.
  • Working knowledge of credentialing, payroll support processes, provider onboarding, and healthcare compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with performance metrics, reporting tools, and scheduling/staffing systems at a multi-site or regional level.
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels.
  • Change management and project management skills.
  • Anesthesia, surgical services, or perioperative experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience partnering with hospital/health system leadership on growth strategy and resource planning preferred.
  • Prior Anesthesia Operations Manager or comparable site-level experience strongly preferred.
