About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own a product area end to end, from design through post-launch results
Build and ship backend features in the Django monolith, including established workflows and greenfield projects
Improve performance and reliability by optimizing services, database queries, endpoints, and caching layers
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and frontend engineers to deliver reliable experiences at scale
Contribute to technical discussions and balance short-term delivery with longer-term architecture
Uphold engineering practices including code review, test coverage, and observability
Join one of the Agents, Docs, Growth, or Optimize teams based on business needs and background

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years building backend applications at high scale and availability
Extensive Python experience
Track record optimizing endpoint performance and database queries
Strong advocacy for automated testing
Track record implementing engineering best practices
Django experience is a nice-to-have
Startup experience is a nice-to-have
Backend stack knowledge: Go, Python, Django, PostgreSQL, Redis, Celery, AmazonMQ, Terraform, AWS
