About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Architect and scale AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure as usage and team size grow
  • Design and implement zero-downtime deployment strategies with automated rollback
  • Build and maintain Terraform modules used by engineering for infrastructure changes
  • Lead capacity planning and cost management across production systems
  • Build observability into services using Honeycomb, Sentry, and CloudWatch
  • Manage CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions
  • Own networking and traffic routing decisions, including load balancing and DNS
  • Support Scribe’s Specialized Intelligence platform, which captures how work happens and turns it into a living asset for people and AI agents

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7+ years in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering
  • Deep AWS expertise, including EKS, VPC, S3, and RDS/Aurora
  • Fluency in the AWS Well-Architected Framework
  • Production Kubernetes experience, including cluster administration and multi-environment management
  • Terraform at scale, including module development and state management
  • Production experience with CNCF tooling such as Helm and Karpenter
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions
  • Experience with Honeycomb, Sentry, and CloudWatch for diagnosing production issues
  • Experience implementing zero-downtime deployments with automated rollbacks
  • Strong networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, and traffic routing
  • Experience managing async job processing and message queues at scale
  • Scripting and automation in Python, Go, Bash, or similar
  • Track record of capacity planning, performance tuning, and cost management
  • Familiarity authoring AGENTS.md files and DNA scaffolding
  • Current residence within the U.S. Pacific Time Zone
