Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the design, architecture, and development of high-performance, scalable software systems
Write, test, and maintain high-quality code
Contribute to architectural decisions focused on scalability, performance, and maintainability
Uphold coding standards and conduct code reviews
Analyze and resolve complex technical issues
Optimize code and improve system performance
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Drive improvements in code quality, development processes, and team efficiency
Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and API specifications
Communicate technical decisions and strategies to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends
Mentor junior engineers
Deliver backend services and APIs on schedule
Support continuous delivery, monitoring, and trunk-based development

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of professional software development experience
Strong background in software design and architecture
Experience with TypeScript and Node
Experience with AWS, PostgreSQL, and SQL
Experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Copilot, or Cursor
Knowledge of software architecture patterns, including microservices, distributed systems, hexagonal architecture, and domain-driven design
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to work an 8 to 5 EST schedule
Legal right to work in the United States after hiring
Must be available during scheduled working hours
Must have a quiet, professional, distraction-free work environment
Must have reliable high-speed internet access
