About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide support for all Human Resources department functions, including benefits administration, payroll, recruitment, education, organizational communication, and development
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology and financial institution trends
  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations affecting the credit union
  • Keep the Vice President of Human Resources informed of opportunities, best practices, and challenges
  • Document, develop, and streamline HR processes, procedures, and workflows
  • Maintain relationships with outside vendors
  • Administer HR programs involving compliance, productivity, engagement, recognition, training, and development
  • Assist with employee relations and performance management
  • Help determine learning needs, measurable outcomes, and training priorities
  • Monitor and evaluate trainee progress and development
  • Complete special HR projects and communicate project status and issues
  • Respond to sensitive employee inquiries regarding personnel policies and benefits
  • Respond to employment verification requests
  • Process employee benefit and insurance selections, enrollments, invoices, and claims
  • Maintain HRIS information for payroll, benefits, and paid time off
  • Provide HRIS training to appropriate management staff
  • Maintain secure HR records and personnel files
  • Organize employee relations events and employee meetings
  • Perform recruitment activities, including sourcing, screening, scheduling, interviewing, and pre-employment processes
  • Coordinate and conduct new-hire orientation
  • Follow workplace, security, safety, and credit union policy procedures
  • Complete other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Four-year college degree in Human Resources or a relevant field
  • Three to five years of human resources work experience
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
  • Knowledge of HR compliance requirements, including OSHA, HIPAA, EEOC, and FMLA
  • Knowledge of credit union policies and procedures, including NACHA, BSA, and OFAC
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
  • Ability to use required technology and HRIS
  • Ability to perform recruitment, benefits administration, payroll, employee relations, and training-related duties
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs. and/or exert force to move up to 50 lbs.
