About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Run agentic coding workflows on production code and evaluate their performance at scale
Build tooling, guardrails, evaluations, and review practices for trusted agent-generated code
Design systems and determine where human oversight is required
Ship product changes using products as test cases for new engineering practices
Pair with engineers, review work, and support adoption of learnings
Interview candidates and help determine team hiring
Document learnings for broader engineering use
Design, build, and ship customer-facing AI-powered features using TypeScript, Go, and AWS
Architect and implement agentic workflows, LLM pipelines, and intelligent automation
Integrate foundation models into product surfaces while balancing latency, cost, quality, and evaluation
Use Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and similar AI-native development tools
Lead architecture and code reviews focused on reliability, security, and maintainability
Own projects from concept through production, monitoring, iteration, and post-launch improvement
Track AI tooling and foundation-model advances and incorporate relevant developments into roadmaps and practices
Report to the CTO or an engineering team lead as the team develops

Requirements

What you’ll need

10+ years building and shipping production software
Track record at strong engineering companies (big tech, high-growth startups, or both)
Evidence of driving direction and setting team direction
Deep computer science and system design fundamentals
Heavy, hands-on use of AI coding tools on real codebases
Experience with LLMs, including agents, tool use, evals, prompt design, and context design
Proficiency in TypeScript and strong backend engineering fundamentals
Experience designing and operating distributed systems in cloud environments; AWS preferred
Hands-on experience with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and production deployment practices
Clear, direct communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Comfort with ambiguity and evolving team structures
System design, AI-assisted coding, and project leadership demonstrated during interviews
