About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a trusted business partner to product and engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle, from concept development to go-to-market strategy
  • Identify and assess potential legal and global regulatory risks associated with products and services
  • Develop and implement strategies to address and mitigate legal and compliance risks
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives across the product development lifecycle
  • Monitor legal developments in privacy, AI, financial services, and global regulations
  • Provide thought leadership and strategic guidance to internal stakeholders
  • Draft, review, and negotiate partnership agreements, supply chain agreements, and customer-facing terms
  • Collaborate with external counsel on complex matters with a global scope
  • Support commercial transactions and strategic partnerships with the legal team
  • Contribute to other legal projects as required by the business
  • Provide legal training to legal team members and business stakeholders

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • JD, with admission to at least one bar
  • Minimum of 3 years of substantive legal experience
  • Preferably experience within the in-house legal department of a SaaS company
  • Demonstrated knowledge in AI and data privacy law and regulations
  • Strong understanding of emerging technologies
  • Experience working with and advising on AI-powered products and services
  • Experience and practical insight into customer-driven development dynamics
  • Familiarity with open source and experience counseling companies on open-source policy and remediation
  • Experience navigating legal and regulatory complexities in global markets
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Collaborative and proactive approach, with a passion for innovation and desire to be a strategic partner
  • Understanding of the SaaS industry, its legal challenges, and the global regulatory landscape
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Curiosity and willingness to tackle new challenges
