About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as a trusted business partner to product and engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle
Advise on product development, AI, data privacy, emerging technologies, and global regulatory requirements
Identify and assess legal and global regulatory risks associated with products and services
Develop and implement strategies to address and mitigate legal and compliance risks
Drive cross-functional initiatives across the product development lifecycle
Monitor legal developments in privacy, AI, financial services, and global regulations
Provide thought leadership and strategic guidance to internal stakeholders
Draft, review, and negotiate partnership agreements, supply chain agreements, and customer-facing terms
Collaborate with external counsel on complex global matters
Support commercial transactions and strategic partnerships
Contribute to other legal projects as required by the business
Provide legal training to legal team members and business stakeholders

Requirements

What you’ll need

JD, with admission to at least one bar
Minimum of 3 years of substantive legal experience
Preferably experience within the in-house legal department of a SaaS company
Demonstrated knowledge of AI and data privacy law and regulations
Strong understanding of emerging technologies
Experience advising on AI-powered products and services
Experience and practical insight into customer-driven development dynamics
Familiarity with open source and experience counseling companies on open-source policy and remediation
Experience navigating legal and regulatory complexities in global markets
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong project management skills
Collaborative and proactive approach, with a passion for innovation
Understanding of the SaaS industry and its legal challenges
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
Curiosity and willingness to tackle new challenges
Bonus: experience working with financial services customers
