About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide guidance on technical safety standards and ensure compliance to prevent accidents and occupational illnesses
- Support campaigns, presentations, and training on the use of PPE, activity-related risks, and environmental care
- Conduct workplace inspections, identify hazardous conditions, and eliminate unsafe situations
- Train and raise employees’ awareness of safe workplace practices
- Prepare onboarding and recurring training programs covering safety, standards, and procedures
- Select, distribute, and inspect personal protective equipment and fire protection equipment
- Collaborate on building modification and new facility projects to create safer working conditions
- Research and analyze the causes of occupational illnesses and unhealthy environmental conditions, taking the appropriate legal measures
- Lead campaigns and monitor and evaluate training and communications activities
- Collaborate with the Internal Accident Prevention Commission (CIPA) on corrective and preventive accident-prevention solutions
- Compile and analyze workplace accident and occupational illness statistics
- Develop disaster control, firefighting, and rescue plans
- Support the Internal Workplace Accident Prevention Week (SIPAT) by organizing activities and resources
- Assess workplace accidents and follow up with injured employees to ensure appropriate medical care
- Support the updating of periodic medical examinations and present relevant performance indicators
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience as an Occupational Safety Technician with active professional registration
- Knowledge of applicable labor and occupational safety legislation
- Knowledge of mandatory training requirements established by the Regulatory Standards (NRs) of Brazil’s Ministry of Labor and Employment
- Intermediate English is desirable but not required
