About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own, develop and manage a robust, reliable and audit-ready financial operation
- Lead and own the monthly close and related processes
- Deliver accurate and timely management accounts and investor reporting
- Maintain a suitable internal control environment for a Series C+ company
- Manage day-to-day treasury activities and appropriate controls
- Lead UK and France compliance activities, including statutory accounts, audits, VAT, other taxes and company secretarial duties
- Work with external auditors and advisers across UK and French entities
- Identify opportunities to automate and simplify Finance processes using scalable, AI-enabled tools and workflows
- Oversee revenue, billing, deferred revenue, SaaS-related activity, accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Assist with management of the company ESOP and other administrative/CoSec duties
- Manage, support and develop one direct report
- Work closely with the CFO and FP&A to support planning and decision-making
Requirements
What you’ll need- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
- Experience working as a Financial Controller, Fin Ops leader, or similar role
- Experience reporting under UK GAAP FRS102 or IFRS
- Proven experience in a B2B SaaS, software, technology or subscription-based business
- Preferably experience in a high-growth VC / PE-backed company
- Good understanding of AI and its implementation for improvements and efficiencies within financial operations
- Experience working across multiple legal entities and understanding of consolidations
- French language is a strong bonus
- Knowledge of local administrative compliance and procedures in France is a bonus
- Experience handling professional external relationships with auditors and tax advisors
- Experience handling new and complex matters
- Ability to work accurately and independently
- Problem-solving ability with a collaborative and pragmatic approach
- Clear communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to engage and be trusted by senior stakeholders
- Experience with Stripe and HubSpot is nice to have
