About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Improve developer productivity and enablement across the engineering organisation
  • Build and improve self-service tooling and golden paths, including project templates, CI/CD pipelines, and scaffolding tools
  • Improve onboarding and reduce time to first meaningful production contribution
  • Run developer experience initiatives such as office hours, internal workshops, and lunch-and-learn sessions
  • Write and maintain documentation and runbooks
  • Gather developer experience signals and use them to prioritise the roadmap
  • Partner with engineering teams through shadowing, pairing, and dogfooding
  • Contribute to the Platform roadmap and define transparent success criteria
  • Contribute to observability as code initiatives
  • Provide highly available and performant AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), and MongoDB Cloud infrastructure
  • Harden production systems and improve uptime, graceful degradation, and automated recovery
  • Modernise CI/CD pipelines using GitOps practices such as ArgoCD
  • Evolve Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code
  • Establish or improve SLAs and SLOs for core platform infrastructure
  • Work with Security to improve compliance and security posture
  • Identify and deliver infrastructure cost-saving opportunities
  • Make architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and represent Platform priorities in cross-functional discussions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3–5 years of experience in software engineering
  • Meaningful experience as a product/application engineer before moving into platform work
  • Experience building or contributing to internal developer platforms, portals, or self-service tooling
  • Experience designing paved roads or golden paths
  • Experience improving CI/CD pipelines for reliability, speed, and developer feedback loops
  • Experience with developer enablement activities, documentation, training, pairing, or internal advocacy
  • Experience using developer experience metrics or frameworks such as DORA, SPACE, or internal DevEx surveys
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog
  • Proficiency in at least one of Go, Python, TypeScript, or strong shell scripting
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence technical direction across teams
  • Deep understanding of AWS services including IAM, S3, EC2, EKS, RDS, and Lambda
  • Experience running, maintaining, and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters (EKS) in a production, multi-tenant environment
  • Proven Infrastructure as Code experience, particularly Terraform
  • Experience with configuration/deployment tooling such as Helm
  • Hands-on experience with GitOps CI/CD tooling such as Argo CD or Flux
  • Experience with MongoDB or similar managed database platforms
  • Experience monitoring and operating production systems using tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana
  • Experience operating within a standards-compliant environment such as ISO 27001
  • Role is open to candidates located in the UK or France
