About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Collaborate with go-to-market leads to structure, negotiate, and frame commercial relationships, joint ventures, and channel partnerships
  • Build business cases and financial valuation models
  • Coordinate cross-functional due diligence with product, legal, and finance teams
  • Manage the corporate development pipeline from sourcing and deal structuring through integration planning
  • Partner with Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Identify, research, and screen prospective acquisition targets
  • Conduct TAM, SAM, and SOM analyses for new geographies and crop segments
  • Synthesize agricultural production, market, commercial, grower-trend, and competitive intelligence data
  • Produce assessments supporting market expansion, product development, and sales strategy
  • Translate market research into briefs for marketing and sales teams
  • Define buyer personas with product management
  • Assess regional challenges and collaborate on pricing frameworks
  • Monitor macroeconomic agricultural trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technology shifts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Agronomy, Business, Finance, or a related field
  • 7–10 years of progressive experience in corporate development, strategic marketing, management consulting, or venture capital
  • Preferred experience within applied technology, AgTech, SaaS, or precision agriculture sectors
  • Proven track record of independently building market models, assessing market share data, and evaluating corporate transaction structures
  • Understanding of the agricultural value chain, including growers, retail distributors, equipment OEMs, and agronomic workflows
  • Strong proficiency in financial valuation and market-sizing mathematics
  • Ability to translate complex datasets into clear executive presentations
  • Ability to make qualified buy, build, or partner recommendations
  • Exceptional verbal and written skills
  • Ability to align commercial and operational objectives and plans with sales directors and executive leadership
  • Preferred: MBA or equivalent advanced degree
  • Preferred: CFA designation
  • Preferred: direct experience in deal execution, M&A integration, or strategic alliance negotiation within AgTech, SaaS, or IoT
  • Preferred: deep agricultural technology ecosystem network
  • Preferred: familiarity with carbon markets, biological registration frameworks, and environmental sustainability incentives
