About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary administrative support person for the Vice President of Development department and provide supplemental support to other department staff
  • Manage remote and in-person Development department meeting logistics and coordination
  • Oversee travel planning and logistics for fundraising staff for group meetings as needed
  • Assist with tracking deadlines for internal report and communication deliverables
  • Work with the AR Accountant to manage gift processing integration in Raiser’s Edge
  • Produce donor acknowledgement letters and other stewardship communications
  • Maintain accurate and consistent document filing in the department's SharePoint
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for incoming Development department calls, emails, and inquiries
  • Triage and prioritize time-sensitive requests
  • Support the Vice President of Development with donor engagement tracking and Moves Management in Raiser’s Edge
  • Coordinate meetings and travel, manage communications and reporting, support donor stewardship activities, and maintain organized systems for fundraising and donor engagement operations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, or related field + 1 year of applicable work experience OR Associate degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, or related field + 2 years of applicable work experience OR High school diploma/GED + 3 years of applicable work experience
  • Applicable work experience includes paid or unpaid administrative experience requiring customer service, data entry, prioritization of multiple projects within strict deadlines, and coordination with multiple departments
  • Minimum of 2 years of administrative experience supporting executives, fundraisers, or client-facing professionals in nonprofit fundraising or development
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and donor database systems, such as Raiser’s Edge
  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements
  • Must reside in California
  • Exceptional written communication and professional correspondence skills
  • Ability to engage with donors, executives, board of directors, and community boards
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of donor information and adhere to ethical fundraising standards
  • Ability to anticipate needs and work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision
