About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Project Manager as a central point of contact for project coordination and communications
  • Develop, maintain, and update project management plans, schedules, roadmaps, staffing plans, communication plans, risk plans, and quality plans
  • Track project scope, requirements, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, budget, resource utilization, and performance metrics
  • Support Agile delivery through product backlogs, sprint backlogs, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and burndown tracking
  • Monitor day-to-day project progress and identify schedule, cost, quality, staffing, and delivery concerns
  • Maintain RAID logs, action-item trackers, decision logs, change logs, and dependency registers
  • Support change control board activities and document, assess, track, and communicate change requests
  • Coordinate release management, deployment activities, patch releases, emergency releases, and implementation-readiness activities
  • Support security, privacy, compliance, risk assessment, authorization, and remediation activities
  • Coordinate stage-gate reviews and ensure documentation, exit criteria, risks, and approvals are complete
  • Prepare weekly status updates, monthly progress reports, executive briefings, dashboards, and project communications
  • Track deliverables, invoices, financial information, performance measures, and contract requirements
  • Prepare meeting agendas, presentations, minutes, decisions, risks, and action items
  • Facilitate or support kickoff meetings, demonstrations, technical meetings, status reviews, change control meetings, and closeout meetings
  • Coordinate across internal teams, government stakeholders, contractors, vendors, and dependent systems
  • Maintain project records, work products, accomplishments, decisions, and supporting evidence throughout the project lifecycle
  • Support standard operating procedures, business analysis documentation, test materials, training materials, and knowledge-transfer artifacts
  • Prepare final project reports covering accomplishments, deliverables, open issues, lessons learned, and future enhancement needs
  • Support project closeout, transition, operational handoff, and post-implementation activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience providing project management, project coordination, or PMO support for technology, data, software, or business projects
  • Experience tracking project scope, schedule, cost, quality, risks, issues, dependencies, and deliverables
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery methods
  • Experience preparing project plans, schedules, status reports, meeting materials, and executive communications
  • Experience maintaining RAID logs, action-item trackers, decision logs, and change-control documentation
  • Ability to coordinate multiple workstreams, stakeholders, deliverables, and competing priorities
  • Experience supporting requirements management, release management, testing, deployment, and implementation activities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to identify risks and issues early and escalate them with practical recommendations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar project management tools
  • Ability to work independently while supporting senior project managers, technical leads, and government stakeholders
  • Nice-to-have: federal, healthcare, regulated, or public-sector program experience
  • Nice-to-have: familiarity with government project governance and lifecycle frameworks such as EPLC
  • Nice-to-have: Authority to Operate activities, security assessments, compliance reviews, or risk remediation experience
  • Nice-to-have: contract deliverables, invoicing, financial tracking, and performance reporting experience
  • Nice-to-have: PMP, CAPM, PMI-ACP, CSM, or comparable certification
  • Nice-to-have: enterprise modernization, cloud migration, data, analytics, or application development experience
  • Nice-to-have: change control boards, configuration management, and release governance familiarity
  • Nice-to-have: user acceptance testing, pilot demonstrations, training, and organizational change management experience
  • Nice-to-have: project dashboards, performance metrics, and automated status reporting experience
  • Nice-to-have: federal acquisition, task-order, or contractor management knowledge
  • Proactive, dependable, highly organized, and comfortable in ambiguous, fast-changing environments
