About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop or modify manufacturing processes to increase product performance, improve manufacturing efficiency and boost profits
Work closely with design engineers, equipment vendors, program managers, marketing, and quality engineers to support new electromechanical product development
Provide overall process design and suggest measures to improve product design for manufacturability
Develop new equipment and process flows and cost estimates for labor and capital
Provide ongoing sustaining support to production lines at global make sites
Develop or adapt production processes for assembly, calibration, and testing
Define production equipment specifications and coordinate with in-house mechanization and equipment suppliers
Participate in global new product development teams and advanced quality planning activities
Collaborate on process specifications, quality aspects, product specifications, and equipment continuity
Influence product designs to ensure economical and defect-free manufacturing
Organize sample lines and process development equipment
Coordinate functional requirements, design reviews, and debugging/qualification of high-volume assembly/test equipment or tooling
Transfer knowledge to make-site personnel
Support improvement projects to reduce cycle time, defects, and manufacturing costs
Work with suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure capable processes, controls, delivery requirements, and cost targets
Evaluate technical capabilities including tooling design, build experience, maintenance programs, processes, process controls, cell automation, quality control systems, and material knowledge

Requirements

What you’ll need

A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
